Fitch affirms United States at 'AAA'

Fitch Ratings has affirmed the United States' long-term foreign and local currency issuer default ratings at 'AAA' with a stable outlook. Fitch said the 'AAA' rating was underpinned by the sovereign's unparalleled financing flexibility as the issuer of the world's preeminent reserve currency (accounting for nearly two-thirds of global reserves) and benchmark fixed-income asset and as home to the world's deepest and most liquid capital markets.
